EuroHockey 2017 Played on the Latest Benchmark in Hockey Turf - GreenFields TX Elite
HockeyTXWater basedFollowing the success of GreenFields TX at the 2014 Hockey World Cup, the KNHB has chosen the company’s latest innovation - GreenFields TX Elite as the playing surface for the Rabobank EuroHockey 2017 Championships.
As the innovative leader in synthetic turf systems, GreenFields have taken their TX field technology to the next level with this new product. GreenFields TX Elite has just been named as the first artificial turf in the world to be certified by the FIH to the Global Elite standard, the optimum quality standard for competitive tournaments.
Developed for this very purpose- to excel at international competitions, the new turf has even faster ball speeds thanks to the 1.5 million fibres in every square metre of turf. The multi-layer system is designed to hold water better too – meaning less water is needed to irrigate the field beforehand - and with no drying out of the pitch during the game, play is fast and even throughout the match.
During the pre-championship training at the Wagener Stadium the new GreenFields TX Elite pitch was praised for its outstanding playing characteristics.
“The new field is magnificent, really fast, doesn’t bounce and once played on it’s totally perfect.”
Valentin Verga - Amsterdam Hockey & Bandy Club Player
Like the previous field, the renewed Wagener Stadium field was installed by CSC Sport, part of TenCate Grass Group, who specialise in the installation and maintenance of sports surfaces.
“GreenFields TX Elite is an extremely strong and stable product. It ensures the field is completely flat throughout its life span resulting in the ultimate hockey surface”.
André Ceelen, CSC Sport
With just one day to go until the major tournament starts, GreenFields TX Elite is already proving to be the new benchmark for modern fast paced hockey with players around the world experiencing improved hockey play.
